What editors actually run, and why most real estate PR never gets used

Nic Fren · 18 July 2026 · 1

Most real estate PR fails on the first line. It leads with the company rather than the change, and an editor reads it as an advertisement written in the third person.

A story runs on editorial merit when it carries verifiable industry news, market data, regulatory change, independent research, or a genuine point of view that does not sell anything. It gets flagged as a promoted placement when it is a milestone, an appointment, an office opening, an award, a launch or a set of company growth figures.

Neither track is better than the other. They are different products. What damages a brand is trying to get the second one for free, repeatedly, and being read that way by the desk every time.

If the story is about you, pay for the placement and control the message. If the story is about the industry, write it properly and let the editor decide.
